Capillary Technologies is an information technology company headquartered in Bangalore, India. Established in 2008,[1] Capillary is present in India, Singapore, United Kingdom, South Africa and Middle East.[1]

History

Capillary was started by Krishna Mehra, Aneesh Reddy and Ajay Modani in 2008.[1] The three co-founders are alumni of Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur (IIT-KGP). Before starting Capillary, Aneesh has worked at ITC Limited; Krishna with Microsoft Research and Ajay with Danieli. Incubated in IIT Kharagpur, Capillary began its operations in Kolkata and moved to Bangalore in May, 2009. Capillary got its first client, Indus League brand John Miller in April, 2009. In September 2009, Capillary received a funding of USD100,000 as the winners of QPrize[2] 2009, a global business plan contest conducted by Qualcomm. By September 2010, Capillary’s solutions were live in 2000 stores across India. From 10 employees in 2009 and 30 employees in 2010, Capillary has grown to a 150 strong team (as of October 2011)[1]. It currently caters to more than 100 major brands worldwide, reaching over 10 million consumers across 6000+ stores in 500 cities.[1]

Funding

Capillary started with a funding of 100,000 Indian rupees by the co-founders themselves. It later received a funding of 1,500,000 rupees from IIT-KGP’s Entrepreneurship Cell.[1] In September 2009, Capillary received a funding of $100,000[2] from Qualcomm Ventures.[3] Capillary has also raised funds from a group of angel investors, including the high profile angel investor Rajan Anandan, Head of Google India; Venkat Tadanki, CEO of Secova; and Harminder Sahni, founder of Wazir Advisors.[4]

Products

Capillary provides end-to-end customer engagement solutions to retailers and consumer facing businesses.

!nTouch is a Cloud-based CRM solution, which is integrated with billing and point-of-sale outlets of retail chains. Using !nTouch, SMEs can access and use purchase data to entice buyers with loyalty programmes and discounts.

TruTouch is a self-serve-style product for SME retailers that was launched in 2011.[5]

Subsidiaries

In 2011, Capillary has expanded its operations to Dubai, United Kingdom and Singapore. Capillary’s international operations are run under its subsidiaries Capillary Solutions FZ-LLC (Dubai), Capillary Technologies Ltd (UK) and Capillary Technologies SG PTE. LTD.[6]
